    Wednesday,Year of the Lord, Nov.25, 2015

Go and be with my People.

O God, come to our assistance,

LORD make haste to help us.

     Glory be to the Father...

From the prayer desk of Rev.EGaryV.pdeacon.

Share the  Gospel of the Lord # 316

    Daniel 5:1-6.13-24,16-17,23-28

Read the text in your Holy Bible.

When King Belshazzar (son of Nechadenezzar who inheried his father's throne) gave a banquet and ordered to bring the gold and silver vessels that was taken from the temple in Jerusalem. Suddenly in the midst of their celebrations, the fingers of a human hand appeared, writing on the plaster of the wall.

The king face blanched, his thourghts terrified and his hip joints shook and his knees knocked. Daniel was consulted and he said to the king, "You have rebelled against the Lord of heaven. MENE, TEKEL, PERES. Mene means God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it; Tekel, you have been weighed on the scales and found wanting; Peres, your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians."  **** You and me, must follow the message of God, for if we do not discipline ourselves according to the moral law of our conscience to do what is right and avoid evil, like being intoxicated by material things, desire for fame, and wrong piety, which in itself is,  a true  blasphemy to our Lord our  God against his first commandment. In our evangelization, we must focus not on devotions but teach the Biblical Truth.

    Psalm David 3:62

Sun and moon, bless the Lord; praise

and exalt him above (the canonized saints)

forever.  Give glory and eternal praise to him.

E.Gary Villanueva, MD, PhD, ScD, FACP: For your information: Let me share, St. Francis, "Admonitions XXIII:  (1)  Blessed is the servant who would accept correction, accusation, and blame from another as patiently as he would from himself. (2) Blessed is the servant who when he is rebuked quietly agrees, respectfully submits, humbly admits his fault, and willingly makes amends. (3) Blessed is the servant who is not quick to excuse himself and who humbly accepts shame and blame for a sin, even though he did not commit any fault. We are challenge not to retreat ourselves, but to show we are also strong in spirt to our friends who we love and respect. Ilearn this in the seminary during my diaconate.

    Gospel Reflection

    Luke 21:12-19

Read the text in your Holy Bible.

Jesus said to his disciples, “They will arrest you and persecute you; they will hand you over to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors because of my name. This will give you an opportunity to testify. So make up your minds not to prepare your defense in advance; for I will give you words and a wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to withstand or contradict. You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, by relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. You will be hated by all because of my name. But not a hair of your head will perish. By your endurance you will gain your souls. **** You and me, must not be afraid with ISIS, and all those threat, and adversaries that besiege us .  God will give us sufficient grace, strength, and wisdom to face any trial and to answer any challenge to our faith. (Many of us will just shy ourselves from all our friends because of gossip, slander and envy.)  All those things are our challenge, not to give up, but show them brave and bold, your a witness of Christ words and with that  you gain  the joy and freedom of the gospel.

Lord have mercy, in your goodness

and compassion, wipe out my offenses

and cleanse me of my sins.

Say one "Our Father" as Jesus taught us.

My daily mass will be offered to Amado Trinidad, MD'58 , may the PEACE of the  Lord, be with him in Jesus name.

Amado was our class comedian. He shared funny stories and jokes which made us laugh so much ! During our residency in Montreal, Amado visited us frequently in our small apartment. We shared our food, experiences and laughter. He completed his residency in pathology and anesthesiology in Montreal. He practiced anesthesiology and general medicine in Montreal, Brooklyn NY, Indiana and Oxnard , Ventura County CA before he retired in 2002. He has a big avocado farm behind his house In Somis CA and residential care facilities for the elderly near their house.

Amado always worked hard . His professional and family achievements speak for his innate cognitive, social, adaptive and emotional intelligence. We truly appreciate the fellowship, camaraderie, love and happiness he shared with his family, classmates and friends. Amado is a successful man which I described on the front cover of our book "The Thomasians 2008 Golden Jubilarians":

"That Man is a Success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who leave the world better than he found it; who never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty or failed to express it; who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had."

    August 1, 2015

    To our fellow Thomasians:

It is with a sad note and fervent prayer that we inform you of the passing of one of the notable members or our Thomasian family. Dr. Eugenio "Gene" Balbuena of Class 1966 has moved on today to a better place than what we live in and in the company of angels and saints by the side of our Lord.

Gene had been one of the main supporters of the University of Santo Tomas Medical Alumni in American (USTMAAA), helping organize the Northern California chapter and providing stable leadership that we had relied on to keep our members in touch with the National organization. Ever a gentleman, there was no better ambassador for USTMAAA in the Golden Gate region. He and his family are very generous benefactors of the USTMAAA Foundation and are listed in the "Wall of Honor". He and his classmates are also generous contributors to the Thomasian Alumni Center that was one of the landmark projects during the Quadricentennial Celebration of the University of Santo Tomas in 2011. He had been a part of the Board of Directors up to the time of his demise and we will surely miss his presence and wise counsel in our future sessions.

May we call on our Thomasian family to pause for a moment and give respect to our departed comrade and pray for his eternal repose and for his beloved ones as they grieve for their loss.

Farewell Gene! Thank you very much for the time that you walked with us in our journey on earth. And remember us when you are in heaven.

Your Thomasian Family and Team USTMAAA
